四顶屋 总部位于里加的建筑工作室GAISS，为一个年轻家庭设计了一座私人住宅；其屋顶设计呈现分别向四个方向倾斜的状态，并成为此间小型建筑的特色景观；它 “四顶屋”（HouseWith Four Roofs）的名称也由此而来。 Riga based architecturestudio GAISS have designed a private house for a young family with a roofscapethat has inclinations in four directions.

设计师在接手这个住宅项目时面对的最大挑战，便是应该如何将L形区块划分的特殊属性转化成更具实际意义的空间质量。 The challenge of the projectwas to transform the peculiarity of an L-shaped plot into a spatial quality.
四顶屋俯视图 它绿色区域的狭窄的部分与毗邻街道紧紧相连；而为了最大程度地提高土地利用效率，设计师选择将房子的一部分地基建立在这一段如手臂一般伸展出的延长区，同时将设计的重点聚焦于建筑后背面空间较为宽阔的私人花庭。 A narrow part of the greenparcel is connected to the adjoining street. To maximize land efficiency asection of the house is positioned on this stretch while forming a focustowards the garden in the wider area on the back.

四顶屋步道将侧位玻璃幕墙后的房间依次串联 四顶屋的体验路线，从街道的公共空间为始，一路穿行至建筑身后的私人花庭为终；带有遮蔽的步道沿非暖气车库而建，为房屋提供了一个能够遮挡刺目日光的通行入口；而它并未止步于建筑外部连入建筑内部的节点处，反而继续延伸，分别穿过衣帽间以及两间卧室，步步探入房屋内部空间，将完整的内外空间实现一种前后贯通。 The house can be experiencedas a journey from the public space of the street towards the private garden inthe back. A covered passageway runs along with an unheatedgarage and creates sheltered access to the house. This path continuesfurther inside the house through a wardrobe area and past two bedrooms.
四顶屋玻璃幕墙近景 这一条如轴线一般的步道，其末端以宽敞的起居室和开放式厨房作为结束标志；就在这些空间中玻璃幕墙两两相对，面朝南部花庭，以最大限度地角度敞开——于是哪怕身居室内，住客的视线已经能够穿过这透明立面，饱览外部空间的自然景观的同时，亦能享受日光倾泻的温暖，以及清风拂面的凉爽。 The end of this axis ismarked by an ample living area with an open kitchen. 设计师采用滑动式隔断方法，将观看电视的娱乐休闲用角落与室内的其余空间分隔开来，从而形成更清晰简洁的格局。家庭办公室和主卧室组成了房屋最后一部分生活空间。 A sliding partition has beenplanned to divide a nook for watching TV from the rest of the space. The finalsection of the house consists of a home office and a master bedroom.

四顶屋室内空间近景 建筑的所有居住空间都面向东南和西南——最大的优点便是能利用这种朝向从而最大限度地利用可持续太阳能，减少了冬季的供热取暖需求和非必要能源浪费；此外，为了防止夏季的灼热日光和过高气温，对人们的室内居住和使用体验产生不利影响，设计师在空间内加入悬挑结构，以此对客厅中玻璃幕墙进行有效遮挡，从而使得房间即便是于炎炎夏日，依旧能免受阳光的直射和暴晒，形荫得凉。 All of the living spaces areoriented towards south-east and south-west to maximize solar gains, which helpto reduce heating demand in winter. An overhang shades the glazed facade in theliving room to protect from excessive heat in the summer.
四顶屋室内空间近景 斜屋顶建筑的设计，一方面通过其对于过去元素的承袭和留存，强化了本地居住区的历史及文化特质；另一方面，通过创意的屋顶设计，重新诠释了本地传统建筑模型——设计师建造并组合四方不同倾斜角度，同等配置间距的立块，从而使其于建筑平面图上所呈现的L形完美匹配；既是传承，又是改革，即是追溯，又是展望；这边是四顶屋项目的独到之处。 The character of thesurrounding residential area is reflected in the use of the pitch roofconstruction. The traditional model is however reinterpreted - 4 blocks withpitches in various angles are configured to match the L shape of the plan. 四顶屋室内空间近景

该设计的独到之处在于，每一处内部房间的天花板倾斜方向各异，角度彼此呼应，形成独树一帜的外观特质的同时，为各个房间的空间需求以及实际功实现了高度契合。 Each room has a differentceiling angle to create conditions for the respective functionality.

该四顶屋的主要结构由轻质混凝土砌块与木材结合构筑，主要用于屋顶以及镶嵌窗户的立面墙壁部分；它在与周围的人文和自然环境完美融合的同时，依旧保留了现代美学的鲜明特色。 The structure consists oflightweight concrete block masonry that is combined with timber for roofconstruction and wall sections containing windows. The house blends well withinthe context while maintaining a strong presence of contemporary aesthetics.
