该项目的主旨是对于旧别墅的翻修和改造。该别墅是包括地下的一层，地上的四层以及附加的阁楼在内的大型宅邸。 This project is to renovate a villa which has firstbasement and four floors and loft above ground.

在现有状态下，楼梯和电梯的位置被固定在角落，空间上的垂直关系被彻底打破。因此为了加强建筑内部上下层之间的关系，换言之，设计师为了加强这栋别墅中家庭成员之间的关系，而提出了这一系列的企划。 In the existing state, thestaircase and the elevator were fixed in the corner, and the verticalrelationship was completely separated. Therefore, we aimed to strength therelationship between the upper and lower floors, that is, the relationship ofthe family spent here.

首先，设计师将作为垂直运动的重要元素的楼梯，赋予一种象征性存在的定义，将其移动到平面中心附近，并设计了一个具有强烈向心力的螺旋楼梯，以便可以于每层楼的任何角度，任何位置看到它。 First, we defined the staircasewhich takes charge of vertical movement as a symbolic existence, then moved itnear the center of the floor and designed a spiral staircase with a strongcentripetal force so that it could be seen from anywhere on each floor.

接下来，为了使得室内空间吸收更多的光线，同时强化上下楼层之间的关系，设计师选择将二楼的部分楼板移走，并沿着客厅上方的结构曲线重新设计了楼梯间。 Next, inorder to absorb more day light and strengthen the relationship between theupper and lower floors, the slab on the second floor was partially removed, anda staircase was designed along the living room.

北部花园空间的部分，其楼板也被去除从而打造成下沉花园——为地下室带来了十分充足的日光。 That of the northern gardenpart was also removed and created a sunken garden, bringing plenty of daylightto the basement.

建筑的三楼是儿童房。面向螺旋楼梯的宽敞空间是专为孩子打造的活动区，同时设有带缓冲作用的榻榻米垫。 On the 3rd floor, there is a children’s rooms. The openspace facing the spiral staircase is set up as kids space with cushioned tatamimats.

在窗户和墙壁旁，设计师设计了一个个壁龛形式的小“房间”，以便孩子们可以自在的玩耍并尽可能舒适地阅读。 Along the windows and wall, we designed small "room" wherechildren can play freely and read books comfortably with the conscious of LouisKahn philosophy.

阁楼则是作丈夫和妻子的工作室之用，屋顶的部分被移除，取而代之的是一处别具匠心地天窗设计——以便来源于天空的，更多的自然光进入房间，照亮螺旋楼梯回旋上升的柔和曲线；由于无法确保高度，因此现有的梁结构被刻意以一种完全暴露的方式呈现天花板上。 On the attic, there was set up as a husband andwife's work space, and the roof was partially removed so that more sky lightcould enter to the room and spiral staircase. Since the height cannot beensured, the existing beams are exposed.
空调方面，设计师选择能够被隐藏于外周壁覆盖之下的落地式空调，当夜幕降临，天花板将会被书桌上安装的非直接照明光源所散发出的温暖柔和的光线点亮。 For the air condition, the floor-standing airconditioner is hided behind the peripheral wall. At night, the ceiling issoftly lightened up by indirect lighting installed on the table.

设计师说：“我希望在人们使用这座别墅时，不仅能跨越各个楼层进行交流，同时也希望螺旋楼梯这一强烈的构筑形式，成为能够强化居住者关于集中感的意识的载体，促使他们之家能完成更容易而轻松的交流和互动，并加强他们之间精神上的联系。” I hope that everywhere in this villa the family caneasy to communicate being conscious of the strong shape of the spiralstaircase, also they strength family ties more.
