“二元性”亭远景
“二元性”是专为客户卡萨斯项目（Casas Project）设计的亭式建筑——后者作为室内外设计节，于2019年的年度主题是以黑白双色作为搭配主调进行空间设计。PCDO工作室受邀选择了一个可以充分展示当代建筑装置——譬如亭子——的室外区域；而这一构筑类型在瓜亚基尔市的历史上，甚至对于居于此处的历代人们而言，都是极其罕见的。对设计团队而言，这则是一个关于展示公共空间如何被强大力量介入的机会。 Dualitywas a pavilion designed for Casas Project, an indoor-outdoor design festivalthat had Black and White as its annual theme for 2019. We were invited tocreate a design intervention and chose an outdoor area where we could showcasea contemporary architectural installation, such as a pavilion, that ishistorically rare for Guayaquil and its citizens. For us, this was anopportunity to showcase how powerful intervening public space can be.

最终的结果是，设计师考量和集合地方政府，大学，文化机构和私营部门的利益和兴趣，创造出了一处最具有代表性的室外建筑。 Asa result, we gathered the interest of local government, universities, culturalinstitutions, and the private sector in order to produce outdoor architecturethat can be emblematic.

Two forcesinfinitely opposed and incompatible which can be observed on opposite sides ofeach layer that, interlocked, assemble the pavilion. However, duality is also aconverging point where these opposing forces intertwine taking the best of bothworlds to achieve integrity and balance.

“二元性”建筑归根结底以一处空白的间隙作为中央核心向周围延伸和发展，以一种全新的形式对地平线进行了填充和丰富，进而产生出一个全新的空间。总体形状在概念上是由一系列垂直空隙——作为室内外之间的中间点——组合而成的。 Thepavilion’s architecture develops around a void in order to fill the horizonwith new forms that, in turn, generate a new empty space. The general shape isconceptually composed of a series of vertical voids as intermediate pointsbetween the interior and exterior.

当参观者走来走去穿过这座亭子时，由于它的结构设计，因此为人们提供了一种在开放或封闭的可渗透空间之间反复振荡的体验效果；在亭子内部，由于内部密室的封锁和围护结构，以及顶部建构预留出来的眼孔，使得参观者仿佛穿越了一个既包容又开放的入口。 Asthe visitor walks around and through the pavilion its structure creates theeffect of oscillating between either an open or a closed permeable volume.Inside the pavilion, the visitor traverses a threshold that is both containedand open due to the containment of the inner sanctum as well as the oculus thatcrowns the structure.

因此，这一座亭子建筑通过使用“二元性”的概念，作为对于对互补/对比力的研究——不同于黑与白，光和影；而是其中一个要素注定离不开另一个要素。 Thus,the pavilion uses duality as a study on complementing/contrasting forces, whereone element cannot exist without the other, not unlike black and white, orlight and shadow.
